Jean Colonna allover-print T-shirt with graphic application from S/S 2001. Made in Italy.
In excellent used condition.
A unisex T-shirt with an interesting graphic application on the chest. Screenprinted on a raw-edged self-fabric patch, the decoration consists of a melange of found images: We can see a repeating female figure with a shooting target, and the text 'bourgeois vous n'avez rien compris' accompanied by a woman's bleeding face. Translating to 'Bourgeois, you haven't understood anything', this composition originates from an iconic poster designed by a collective of students in Paris's École des Beaux-Arts during the May 1968 uprising.
The evocative message of this graphic was amply communicated by Colonna, who reproduced it in dozens of garments presented on his S/S 2001 runway. This iteration is crafted from high quality cotton jersey with a tiger allover print. Interestingly, the patched section has been cut on the interior to ensure the garment falls and weighs evenly despite its asymmetry.
